Calculus originated as an independent school catering for grade 8 – 12 learners in 1993. The high school, Calculus College was situated in Kraal street, East End and operated there until 2006.
The founder of the school was Mr W Boshoff. Shortly thereafter, he passed away and Mr. C du Plessis become the new director. He opened the new primary school named Calculus Primary in 1994. This school was situated in Maasdorp street, East End.
In January 1999 Mr K Venter bought the school. He relocated the primary school to the current premises on the Maselspoort road in 2000.
In 2003 Mrs M van der Walt bought the school. The pre-primary school, Ready-Steady-Go was opened in January 2004.The high school relocated to the same premises as the primary school in June 2006 and since operates as a combined school.

In 1995 an independent primary school was started under the name of Calculus.
In 2000 the primary school moved to the current premises.
In 2006 the high school joined the primary school on the same premises.
What grades are taught?
Calculus offers a wide variety of subjects for Grade 10 – 12 on the National Curriculum System.
We accommodate learners from Grade pre-R to Grade 12. In 2013 we also introduced a Special Needs Education class.
What is the School Motto?
The school’s motto is ‘Cogitandum et Computandum est” It translates into “A man must think and reckon”
The meaning of that is:
To reckon means to take responsibility for your actions, therefor you must think carefully before you act. You are the one to account for your actions throughout your life.
